Designed and built a high-performance marketing site on Next.js to replace an aging WordPress installation. The project focused on page speed, SEO performance, and a CMS workflow that the marketing team could actually use without developer support.
What we were up against
The company's WordPress site was loading in 8+ seconds on mobile, had a Core Web Vitals score in the red across all metrics, and was losing organic search rankings to competitors with faster sites. The marketing team needed to update content frequently but every change required a developer to modify PHP templates. The site also lacked proper analytics tracking, making it impossible to attribute leads to specific pages or campaigns.
How we solved it
I designed and built the new site on Next.js with a headless CMS (Sanity) that gave the marketing team full control over content. The architecture prioritized static generation for speed, with ISR (Incremental Static Regeneration) for dynamic content like blog posts and case studies. Every page was designed mobile-first with careful attention to Core Web Vitals — lazy loading images, font subsetting, minimal JavaScript, and edge caching. I also implemented structured data markup for SEO and a comprehensive analytics layer with GA4 and custom event tracking.
